ABSTRACT
This chapter covers the overall management of the item qualication veri-cation process using the integrated verication plan (IVP), the integrated verication report (IVR), and the verication management report (VMR) introduced in earlier chapters. All of the work grouped together under qualication is focused on a major review at the downstream end of the qualication process called by the Department of Defense (DoD) the functional conguration audit (FCA). At this review, the customer is presented with the evidence accumulated through the qualication program to prove that the design satises the requirements in what would now be called in the DoD the performance specications. In past years, these specications
would have been called the development specications or the Part I speci-cations, but MIL-STD-961E changed the terms for the DoD in 1995.
