ABSTRACT

In order to obtain a more thorough understanding of targeted violence, it is important to also examine the victimology of the attacks. While similar to other forms of investigation into violent acts, this section will look at the commonalities of a class of victim rather than the individual. The coming pages will review the timing of attacks, tactics employed, and groups involved in the ambushing of the major classes of target. Figure 6.1 provides a breakdown of the eighteen groups experiencing the greatest number of attacks (accounting for 91%) during the research period.
