In this chapter, we discuss some advanced issues for use by the scrum teams and the associated managers.

13.1 Improvisation As employees’ skills mature, they will proceed through a sequence that resembles that of the medieval and rennaissance guilds: apprentice, journeyman, and master. Of course, we could define a more complex model, but this historic approach is easy to understand. Nor do we claim that the apprentice-journeyman-master approach is particularly efficient-it is just a model representing levels of skills.
