ABSTRACT

Factors affecting the use of photoinitiators At one time, the use of photoinitiators was considered to be a bit of a “black art.” Some photoinitiators would work well whereas others did not seem to work at all for a particular application, and it was soon realized that factors such as the use of pigments, film thickness, viscosity, etc., all had an influence on the performance of a photoinitiator. Many factors determine which photoinitiators should be chosen for an application and how the different types are used. A few basic principles are outlined here.
