ABSTRACT
Particles have various shapes depending on their manufacturing method and mechanical properties. Unlike a sphere or a rectangular parallelepiped, which are objects with clear geometrical defi nitions, powder particles are very complicated objects with no defi nite form. It is generally very diffi cult to describe their shapes. They have therefore been conventionally described and classifi ed by the use of various terms.
