ABSTRACT

Builders may be used alone or in combination, and many binary and ternary systems are known (2). Such builder combinations often best meet specific requirements, such as stability in aqueous liquid formulations, compatibility with other formulation components, changing environmental legislation, and performance efficiency at various temperatures and under “stressed” conditions. Combination builder systems are usually composed of an inorganic builder in excess of the second component, which is often an organic type. It is common practice to call the organic builders in such a system cobuilders.
