Therefore, the focus of this paper is to determine the effects of size heterogeneity of bed materials on mechanisms that determine bar mode (Number of bar mode (n) is explained in Fig. 2). First, we explain a numerical simulation method for describing of bar formation. This numerical simulation is applied to both uniform and heterogeneous sediments. By numerical simulation, we indicate the effect of size heterogeneity of bed materials on the mechanism to determine the bar mode. Linear instability analysis, considering
size heterogeneity of bed materials, promotes more understanding.
