Positioned midway in the book, as the text transits from its emphasis on user organizations to the crucial issues of architecture, security, and reliability in the cloud, this chapter looks inside the offers of a sample of cloud providers. This sample is larger than Chapter 1’s dozen, and it also discusses the developing policy of alliances, some of which might be ephemeral, while others become longer lasting.
