ABSTRACT
Executive Summary Making errors, understanding their causes and occurrences, and preventing them will always be an integral part of medicine, however regrettable this may be. In fact, error consequences may be disastrous for patients, healthcare workers, and entire communities. This chapter provides physicians and other healthcare providers with ways to address the medical error problem by offering a range of concepts, methods, techniques, and strategies grouped under the term lathology.
