Description: This rose-scented, herbaceous plant has long stems and terminal ˆowering tops. It grows wild or is cultivated on a limited scale in India, Java, Seychelles and more recently on the Comoro Islands and in Brazil. The wild grass usually is employed for distillation. The herb (leaves, stems and ˆowering tops) are the parts used. Palmarosa has a sweet, rose-like odor with an herbaceous undertone.
