ABSTRACT

Peter Werner’s funeral service was held in the Lutheran church that his family had belonged to since the end of the war. There were personal friends, neighbors, work ers and executives from the plant. Most o f the m ourn ers also went to the nearby cemetery for the short burial service. For the rest of the day Johanna and Goodman stayed with Trudi and the children while people trooped in and out of the W emer house to pay their respects. Goodman was relieved when night came and the depressing day came to an end.
