ABSTRACT
If we look in the parameter plane, then the knot vectors u and v of a tensor-product B-spline surface form a regular grid, while the knot vectors u(v) and v of the new type of surface form a semi-regular grid, see Figure lb; thus we call these surfaces semi-regular B-spline surfaces.
