ABSTRACT
The discussion of the grading of a polynomial algebra A[T 0, …, Tn ] given by positive weights γ 0, …, γn of the indeterminates T 0, …, Tn naturally leads to questions about the monoid generated by the weights. Therefore, in this section and the next one we will introduce some concepts and propositions about (additive) numerical monoids. For general as well as for historical references we refer to [5], [13] and [2].
