ABSTRACT
After the presentation of numerous techniques and evaluation criteria, the question
remains, how can these techniques be applied to produce a coherent, balanced system
design? This chapter attempts to answer that question by proposing a top-down design
methodology and illustrating its application in a detailed example, the VAXft 310.
