ABSTRACT
The type of uncertainty considered in the previous chapter was attributable to bias. Uncertainty that can be traced to measurement error has gener ated such an enormous literature that this topic requires a specialized and separate monograph. In particular, the (1968) survey paper “Errors of Measurement in Statistics” written by the Cochran of Cochran’s Theorem fame, leaves little that requires elaboration.
