ABSTRACT
World War II was over. VE Day (Victory in Europe) was May 8,1945. V] Day (Victory in Japan) was August 14, 1945. Demobilization of the U.S. military forces set in rapidly. Rationing of gas and foodstuffs was terminated. Many of the young scientific inductees at NACA left Langley Field and went on to become some of the leading scientists and technologists in the country. By September 1946, I was released from the Air Force Reserve and reentered Harvard Graduate School in the department of mathematics.
