ABSTRACT

In their study of the odd-dimensional Moore spaces P 2n+1(pr), Cohen, Moore, and Neisendorfer discovered an intriguing space that they denoted T2n+1{pr}. It is (with one exception) the atomic factor of ΩΡ2η+1(ρΓ) that carries the lowest-dimensional non-zero homotopy. It plays an important role in mod pr homotopy theory and in the theory of loop space decompositions.
