ABSTRACT

While the workshop certainly did not solve all outstanding linguistic issues in user interface construction, a surprising consensus was reached as to what the problems are that need to be solved. Solutions to many aspects of these problems were proposed in the technical papers presented in Chapters 2 through 21. This chapter summarizes the issues the workshop participants found to be important, and relates them to the arguments provided in the technical papers. It is hoped that this collection will be of use to other researchers in user interface construction, and will form a stimulus for further research.
