ABSTRACT
CGEN is an automated knowledge-acquisition tool that allows hardware engi neers to add expertise directly to M l’s knowledge base. This chapter presents CGEN’s knowledge gathering methods. These methods are based upon the fol lowing factors: the interface between CGEN and the hardware expert and M l’s problem-solving method.
