ABSTRACT
Well, I’ve come to the end of this book and it’s time to look back on where I’ve got to. I said right at the beginning that I nd the connection between physics and music a source of endless fascination; and that’s what I’ve tried to communicate to you. If you’re primarily interested in music, I don’t know if I’ve convinced you that it could be worthwhile knowing a little more physics. But if science is your main concern, I hope you can see why I believe that physics needs music. Today, more and more it’s coming to be realized that science is a human activity, and scientists must understand what it is they are doing and why they do it. May I give you one last example-the theory of sub-nuclear matter.
