ABSTRACT
Roughly speaking, about 30% of the semiconductor business is due to memory chips nowadays. Semiconductor memory capable of storing large amounts of digital information is essential to all digital systems, ranging from 4-bit microprocessor systems to 64-bit computer systems, even cluster computers. In modern digital systems, various memory modules may possibly occupy up to half the area of a digital chip.
