ABSTRACT

A. Polymerizable Surfactants Polymerizable surfactants are monomers which contain in their molecule a chemical grouping soluble in the continuous phase of the polymerization. Obvi ously, for use in aqueous emulsion polymerization, the chemical group attached to the monomer has to be water soluble. Similarly, for any nonaqueous system, the group has to provide stabilization in whatever solvent is used as the polymer ization medium.
