ABSTRACT
XML-based web services are independent of both operating systems and programming languages and enable services for any hosts from desktops to smart phones. The eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is a well-known standard that provides the foundation for storing, and exchanging data across different Operating Systems (OSs) and applications. For example, Microsoft Office 2007 and 2008 are using an XML-based document format. XML is standardized by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) organization (https://www.w3.org/ [1].) A good place to begin learning XML is the tutorials provided by W3schools.com [2].
