ABSTRACT

Upon completion of the preliminary processing, the response data are ready to undergo formal analysis. The objective of the analysis phase is to obtain estimates of the hydraulic conductivity and, under certain conditions, the specific storage of the portion of the formation opposite the screened or open section of the well. The emphasis of this chapter will be on the major techniques for the analysis of response data from slug tests performed in confined formations. Specialized techniques devel oped for tests in confined formations in which the hydraulic conductivity is very high or very low, or in cases where the response data are impacted by a well skin, are discussed in later chapters.
