ABSTRACT
Ergonomic hazard prevention and control is the reason for implementing an Ergonomics manage ment process. If repetitive stress problems are to be eliminated, controls must be put in place. There are four methods available for controlling ergonomic hazards: engineering controls, work practice controls, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and administrative controls. Each type of control is unique and most appropriate for a specific ergonomic hazard. Familiarity with each type will help health and safety professionals achieve their ergonomic management goals.
