ABSTRACT

You have decided that you need to make your own monoclonal antibodies. This chapter assumes that you have the antigen (either pure or as a component of a mixture) and deals with immunization, hybridization, screening, cloning, and preservation of the clones. The chapter provides a detailed practical guide through the technical obsta cle course that stands between possession of the antigen and the establishment of a secure bank of cloned hybridoma cells which make antibody against the antigen.
