ABSTRACT
This chapter is intended to familiarize the reader with alpha olefin derivatives, which are applicable in every phase of oil field operations, where a significant amount of alpha olefin derivatives are or may be used. In the discussion of each phase, the mechanical processes and the functionalities demanded of the chemical additives are introduced. Naturally, in the content of this chapter it will only be possible to develop a very simplistic outline for each complex operation.
