ABSTRACT

As for wax-cracking facilities, Chevron shut down a wax-cracking olefin plant in 1984 after they acquired Gulf, with its ethylene-based alpha olefin plant. Shell had three wax-cracking olefin plants in Europe, at least two of which are no longer operating. The paraffin dehydrogenation routes to linear internal alpha olefins used for feed to linear alkylbenzene plants will receive little discussion in this book.
