ABSTRACT
URETER The first four dichotomies of the ureteric bud normally give rise to the pelvis of the ureter, renal pelvis, and the calices of the kidney (5th and 6th weeks). Some degree of duplication of the ureter is found in 5% of autopsies, and is usually silent.
