ABSTRACT
In addition to the earlier investigations [118, 120, 125, 128, 133, 162, 167] a new binary
compound X\ was found in [88]. Its crystal structure was of the M g 5 G d type. Other binary
compounds in the system are M g 2 4 T b 5 (%2), M g 3 T b , M g 2 T b and M g T b . Characteristics of
the compounds are described in Table 16. X-ray investigations [88] showed some
