ABSTRACT
Mg24Y5 crystals in structure. The strength properties of the sheets continue to increase at
this high content whereas in the case of the extruded rods considered, they either did not
change ( T Y S ) or decreased (TS). The possible reason for this discrepancy may be that the
tests of the sheets and rods were done in different conditions. The sheets were tested
without high temperature annealing such that the finer grain size and the finer M g 2 4 Y 5 crystals remained in the structure.
