ABSTRACT

TYS(Oo.i) = 188 M P a with E = 7%. M g alloys with N d and A g are the most attractive owing

to their high tensile yield strength especially at elevated temperatures. A t 250°C the cast

alloy with 2.7 mass % N d and 2.5 mass % A g showed after quenching and ageing

T Y S ( o b . i ) * 1 2 3 M P a , T Y S ( a 0 . 2 ) ~ 132 M P a w i t h T S - 157 M P a [356]. The alloys also

have a high creep resistance up to 200°C. The alloys M g - N d - A g - Z r are characterised by

high strengthening effect during ageing with silver promoting increase of the strengthening

effect.
