In surface waters, dissolved organic matter (DOM) is an important compound comprising naturally occur ring freshwater DOM (mainly humic fraction) and a heterogeneous mixture of DOM from domestic and industrial waste (fulvic acids, proteins, carbohydrates and lipids).
