ABSTRACT
For challenging project with high face pressure combined with mixed ground conditions, there is no easy methodology to obtain a survey of the front and to check the condition of the cutting tools health. Bougues Travaux Publics has developed a specific instrumentation, MOBYDIC (an acronym for MOnitored BouYgues DIsc Cutter), for monitoring directly on a disc cutter the current temperature, the applied load and the rotation speed.
