ABSTRACT

It is not surprising that it is difficult to define

leadership, since researchers have had trouble

understanding leadership, but it can be defined

generally as the process of influencing others

toward goals. (Umstot 1988) Leadership, besides

influence, has been defined in terms of group

processes, personality, particular behaviors, power,

role differentiation, persuasion, compliance, goal

achievement, interaction, role differentiation, ini-

tiation of structure and combinations of two or

more of these (Luthans 2008).
