ABSTRACT

Learning is accepted as a source of competitive

advantage, but the methods involved in achiev-

ing this advantage are not specified (Ghosal 1987,

Edmonson &Moingeon 1998). No research has so

far been conducted to study how individual learn-

ing affects the competitiveness of architectural

design firms. The study reported in this paper is the

first study that has adopted the use of factors in

the study of the effectiveness of the learning proc-

ess of professionals in architectural design firms.

The research seeks an understanding that outlines

how learning processes happen in individual pro-

fessionals employed by architectural design firms.
