ABSTRACT

The mechanical properties required during construction and also the necessary properties during service-life for polymers to be successfully applied to concrete bridge decks are evaluated through experiments and also analysis. An integrated evaluation is proposed based on available results. The main results of this study can be summarized as:

The requirements assigned in the construction specifications are considered together with requirements derived from this study in order to assign improvements necessary for each material and also to set out new requirements for future application. The relationship between the required mechanical properties and material properties are clarified and used for proposing an integrated evaluation method.
