ABSTRACT

SKTB Glavmospromstroymateriab and is currently being used in 18 recycling plants in the USSR. The device is capable of crushing the concrete and sorting out the reinforcement from up to 24 m long, 3.5 m wide and 0.6 m thick precast concrete units. The units to be demolished are placed on a stationary bar-type grizzly by a lifting device, and a hydraulic press which is equipped with a lever knife is moved along the grizzly. Periodically the knife is lowered and crushes the concrete unit. Crushed concrete is discharged through the bar grate of the grizzly on to a belt conveyor which takes it to a primary jaw crusher. The clean reinforcement cage is lifted from the grizzly by means of a magnet and reused as scrap for the production of new reinforcing steel.
