ABSTRACT
The body temperature of quite a few animals, such as fish and salamanders, simply changes with their environment: when it is cold, they are cold, and they are warm when it is warm outside. (The term coldblooded to describe these creatures is thus somewhat misleading.) We humans maintain a rather constant temperature of about 37°C in the core, especially in the brain and chest cavity of our bodies, regardless of the outside climate.
