ABSTRACT

When the light dims, objects lose their colors; when they are in the dark, we cannot see them at all. Objects must appear bright so that we can see them in detail. Even a well-lit visual target must be at the correct distance from our eyes so that we can distinguish particulars. If our eyesight is not perfect, and as we age, it is especially important to have good lighting to carefully locate things that we must see, and we may need to refine or correct our vision with artificial lenses.
