Scaling laws for droplet size and current produced in the cone-jet mode

Abstract.ElectrohydrodynamicAtomization(EHDA)isamethodtoproducevery finedropletsfromaliquidbyusinganelectricfield.Dependingonthepropertiesof theliquid,theflowrateoftheliquidandthevoltageappliedtocreatetheelectricfield, differentmodesofEHDAcanoccur. Themodeofmostinterestisthecone-jetmode.Inthismodedropletsareproduced withanarrowsizedistribution.Fromatotalphysicalmodeldescribingthismode, scalinglawsforthecurrentandthedropletsizearederived.Thesescalinglawsare presentedinthispaper.
