ABSTRACT

Despite this, at least one promising theoretical possibility exists that allows Lorentz and CPT violation in the context of the standard model. It is based on the idea of spontaneous breaking of Lorentz and CPT symmetry in an underlying theory [6, 7], and it appears to be compatible both with experiment and with established quantum field theory. This theory leads to a general phenomenology for Lorentz and CPT violation at the level of the standard model and quantum electrodynamics (QED) [8, 9].
