The purpose is to match the capabilities of employees with the requirements of work by designing work processes and tasks to provide the best fit for each employee. Ergonomics takes knowledge from many fields including engineering, physiology, medicine, psy chology, anthropology, sociology, and business management to develop an understanding of how to make effective and healthy working conditions. O f specific interest is the prevention or reduction of musculoskeletal injuries produced by working.
