ABSTRACT
Investigations of Mo and W compounds, stimulated by the knowledge of their biolo gical roles, commenced in the 1970s and has produced a large number of new and important developments in the chemistry of these elements [52-54]. This survey of the current scene will be very selective, guided by the protein crystallographic results for the nitrogenases on the one hand and oxotransferases on the other.
