ABSTRACT
As one edge is free (unsupported) the strips at right angles to that edge have no support at the free end. Instead they have to be supported internally, i.e. by a strip along the edge. Some solutions of this type are given in Strip Method of Design. The solutions shown below are somewhat different, as the design procedure adopted is similar to that used for slabs where all the sides are supported.
