ABSTRACT
The simple strip method may in principle be applied directly. Just as for solid slabs, the floor is normally divided into areas where the load is earned in the different joist directions. The dividing lines are often lines of zero shear force and of maximum positive moments. The load which is assigned to each joist is that on the area between the centre lines between the parallel joists.
