ABSTRACT

There are very few people in the world who have run multi-billion pound construction contracts and even fewer who have run huge tunnelling jobs. But American contractor Jack Lemley is one. And now he can add The Channel Tunnel to his curriculum vitae. Sir Alastair Morton was the man in the media spotlight and was the man who kept the banks and the shareholders reasonably happy. But although Lemley would never say so himself (he is quick to give credit to the TML team as a whole), it is the TML chief executive who can take much of the credit for construction being completed.
