ABSTRACT
Abstract A method for testing the scaling resistance of concrete, th e "Boraas method" (SS 1 3 72 44), is presented. Using the method, the influence of the composition of ordinary Portland cements on the scaling resistance of concrete wa s investigated as well a s the influence of different types and combinations of air entraining agents and plasticizers. Finally, results fro m practical experience o f the method are presented. In Sweden the method is used, among other things, for pretesting concrete intende d for bridges and also for continuous routine testing on specimens produced at the building site.
