ABSTRACT
The objective of this chapter is to inform the reader briefly about work done on silo problems by the use of finite element calculations and to make the reader aware of the existing problems concerning the application of numeri cal codes. The author cannot claim for the completeness of the representa tion of all the work that has been done in this field. But from the point of view of the author the important contributions are listed and the interested reader is referred to the references.
