ABSTRACT
In a filled silo, some time after filling and while the bulk material remains at rest, pressure on the silo walls arises mainly from the bulk material. It is presupposed that:
• local pressure differences arising from local compression of the air have been levelled by air flow through the pores of the material, and
• equalization of air pressure from inside the silo to the atmosphere is possible.
